Jessie and Kevin’s beautiful lakeside wedding took place at the charming Migis Lodge in Casco, Maine! I am at a loss for words….the weather was STUNNING, the couple was STUNNING, the food, the party…EVERYTHING. Migis Lodge did an amazing job. (Did I mention the food?!). Their staff designed the flowers and cake as well. The band The Free Downloads entertained the guests well into the in night. PERFECT. Also, this bride had the BEST BRIDAL SHOES EVER! Wow…Cinco de Mayo, the Super Moon, the Kentucky Derby and Lisa and Stephen’s gorgeous wedding at DiMillos on the waterfront in Portland Maine! The energy was happening on May 5th, 2012 thats for sure. The weather was perfect for this beautiful wedding which made the nautical colors pop! Love that. Lisa and Stephens family and friends couldn’t have been nicer and more FUN which made me feel right at home (which I practically was!). PERFECT NIGHT! April 28th was another gorgeous day in New England! Leanne and Jimmy had an outdoor ceremony in front of 150 of their friends and family! Their two adorable sons were attendants as well (although little Andrew had other plans!!) We drove to Nubble light and Long Sands Beach (where Jimmy proposed to Leanne) for fun group photos. The reception at The Meeting House at Union Bluff was decorated with sea themed center pieces and decor made by family and friends. All of the bridal bouquets, boutonnieres and the cake were also home made. A classic DIY wedding which I LOVE! Clark from Fred Pappalardo’s team made those guest dance dance dance! Thank you to Lisa my 2nd shooter and thank you Leanne and Jimmy for putting your trust in us! If you would like to see the entire wedding and/or order a print or two, please click HERE. I recently saw a quote that said “to be a great photographer you must love life MORE than you love photography”. I agree 1000 percent! That being said, photographers should have a camera with them at all times….because documenting your OWN story is very important to your legacy. Being a wedding and portrait photographer, it’s easy to want to put down your camera between events and do anything but take pictures. I encourage ALL photographers to go out and play with your camera. Photograph things that you do not get paid for.
So I decided I would try to photograph wild life in Costa Rica…which is not easy. Birds especially were tough. Here is a brief photo doc of my trip! I hope you like it! It was FUN!!!!! My husband Dave is especially happy because he no longer has to listen to me say that I WANT TO SEE A MONKEY IN THE WILD!
I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO SEE A MONKEY!!! We drove to Manuel Antonia National Park in Quepos and took a walking tour with a fabulous guide named Nicolas! Here they are…right up close! This mother and baby were upset with another monkey who chased one of their friends across to the other side of the path!

Their faces look human. That fascinates me! They are look like they are in deep thought.
This is a sloth! I never would have spotted him if it weren’t for our amazing guide! They are the slowest creatures on earth! They are also bad mothers. They just let their babies cry and don’t tend to them!

Dave spotted some tourists looking up into a tree as we were driving away from Manuel Antonio. He screeched the breaks and turned the car around and wouldn’t tell me what they were looking at. He just said “get your camera out!” I ran over and WOW…this was an amazing site! A flock of beautiful Macaw parrots! I was stunned!

- I was so happy to catch them in flight! Not so easy to do.
We at at this amazing restaurant called El Avion made out of one of the Oliver North C-123 planes
The next day we drove to Monteverde which is a cloud forest. It was a breath taking drive! When we arrived we decided to zip line. That was AMAZING. I was scared to death but it was SO cool. 2 miles of flying over the rain forest over deep gorges. I did almost snap my neck in two at the last station but hey! I survived! Here is Dave (above) coming in for a landing and the two of us walking along one of the many hanging bridges there.
We spotted this beautiful green bird. I can’t remember the name but I’m sure Dave’s sister’s could help us out!
The top photo is a rare humingbird exclusive to Costa Rica and the bottom photo above is a Costa Rican wasp. HUGE
Finally, we say good-bye to the villa! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Bahamas destination wedding couple Karena and David, we got to stay here in Escazu at this amazing place. They may be putting it on the market for anyone interested!!!!

Samantha and Robert were married at the Pathway Vineyard Church in Brunswick on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in March! We were able to head outdoors for the formal shots which is unheard of this time of year! Even though there was no snow for ground cover, there is something very pleasantly appealing about barren trees and leaves in late winter. The reception followed at the Yarmouth Amvets Hall. I don’t think I saw one person without a smile on their face! These guests knew how to have FUN! If you’d like to see the entire wedding collection to view or order a print or two, please click HERE.
