Every time I set out to do an engagement shoot the weather is unusually warm! Monday March 12th was no exception! I met Chelsea and Derek at Portland’s East End Beach. I particularly like this location because of the railroad tracks, rock walls and of course the beach. They are an ADORABLE couple (sorry I just had to say that) and I’m SO looking forward to their gorgeous French’s Point wedding this August! Enjoy the sneak peak below! Well…first I just have to say WOW! Tara and Craig rented a multi-million dollar home for their wedding facing directly at Sunday River nestled in a mountainside. The house is called SkiEsta. I have NEVER seen anything like it! It was a perfect place for this….let’s call it “Majestic Casual” wedding. The wedding was really laid back and fun. No formalities really….just a party with a 7 minute ceremony (and being the only shooter I hustled like I’ve never hustled to get the look of 2 shooters!!) They brought in a band from Keene, NH called The Shanna Stack Band which will be opening for Sugarland when they go on tour this Summer! The Good Food Store took very good care of the catering for the 60 or so guests and Pooh Corner Farm designed the stunning winter themed centerpieces and flowers. This wedding was….magic. Cait and Jon were happily married on March 3, 2012 at the New Covenent Baptist Church and the reception followed at The Town Club in Sanford, Maine. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect of the Town Club as I have never been there. It is GORGEOUS! It’s an old building from the turn of the century that use to be a gentlemen’s club. So the black and Ivory yellow vintage colors worked perfectly! DJs Ray and Debra from Expressive Sounds did a great job MCing and DJing the night away. This wedding was also a huge celebration of life. I found out during the toasts that the bride Cait survived a health scare not too long ago. Her friends and family were so happy she is thriving and doing very very well! Cheers Cait and Jon and thank you for hiring me to document your amazing day! Many of my clients pour their heart and soul in the details of their wedding. Many are very crafty and do it themselves. Those can be some of the most charming looking weddings. Brittany and Christopher did just that at their beach front wedding. I loved it so much that I submitted this wedding to a Do It Yourself wedding magazine and they obviously loved it too. This is a link to my original blog post on this wedding where you can see more photos. Below is the feature in DIY Weddings Magazine where you can read about how and what they made themselves.
